Position Title: Assistant to Executive Director

Location: Bratislava, Slovak Republic (Slovakia)

Position Description: Interns will:

  • Assist the Executive Director with administrative work tied to academic exchange programs between Slovakia and the US
  • Serve as an important source on higher education in the US by advising incoming and prospective grantees from Slovakia interested in doing a Fulbright in the US and assisting with pre-departure orientation
  • Coordinate the organization and logistics of the Commission's advising center
  • Assist in proofreading grant and legal documents
  • Update and maintain databases of contacts and grantees
  • Promote the Fulbright Commission using various social media platforms
  • Perform statistical analyses on academic and financial sources to help develop federal grant proposals
  • Gain unique insights into how public diplomacy is furthered through higher education

Desired Qualifications:

Interns should have excellent communication and writing skills, as well as a strong interest in Central Europe, international relations, or diplomacy. An ideal intern should be equipped with IT skills, project management skills, and the ability to work as part of a small team.

Language Requirements: English only

Compensation: Unpaid

Housing: Not provided. Company will help intern to find housing, if desired.

Additional Information: There is no visa requirement for the Slovak Republic.

International Relations Office Intern

Position Title: International Relations Office Intern

Position Description:

Interns' main responsibilities are to assist the employees of the International Relations Office with the administration of incoming students, lecturers, and researchers. This includes communication via email, arrangement of accommodation, collecting documents for residence permit, preparing promotion materials for incoming students, proofreading of English texts, etc. People who are interested in higher education administration, international relations, and/or operations may be a good fit for this internship.

Desired Qualifications:

Interns should have good written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, good organization skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work independently.

Language Requirements: English only

Compensation: Unpaid, but lunch will be provided at the Faculty of Arts cafeteria.

Housing:

Not provided. Employer can help interns arrange accommodation at the Comenius University dormitories for approximately 150 Euros//month.

Additional Information:

Internship duration will be 8 weeks. If offered the position, interns and their supervisor will decide on specific dates of the internship between May and August.
