Position Title: Health & Sexuality Research Intern

Location: Skopje, Macedonia

Position Description: Research Interns will:

• Discuss sensitive topics, such as sexuality, sexual behavior, and mental health, with study participants
• Assist in developing skip patterns in surveys, loading them into online platforms, and implementing them in research
• Conduct field work and facilitate focus groups with participants
• Help transcribe focus group audio recordings
• Work with the rest of the research team to analyze focus group transcripts and the survey responses

Desired Qualifications: Ideal interns will have the following traits:

• Some experience conducting research, facilitating group discussions, conducting interviews, and talking to strangers
• Comfortable working with diverse populations and discussing sensitive topics including sexuality, sexual behavior, and mental health
• Able to maintain privacy and confidentiality

Language Requirements:

English only. Knowledge of the local language (Macedonian) or other languages of the region (Bosnian, Serbian, or Croatian) is not required but would be considered an asset.

Compensation: Unpaid

Housing: Not provided. Employer will help intern to find housing upon student request.

Additional Information: Internship duration will be from early May to late June.

Position Title(s): Research and Management Assistant

Position Description:

Interns will assist in basic human rights research analysis and professional communication tasks in English. They may also assist the project team in office management assistance according to the intern’s interests and skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Interns should possess good communication and writing skills, and basic knowledge and interest around human rights and rule of law.

Position Description: Interns will be expected to do the following:

• Data analysis
• Write policy briefs
• Work well in a team environment
• Participate in scientific events and conferences if applicable to the intern’s work

Desired Qualifications:

Interns should be open-minded, have a collaborative spirit to work in intersectoral and interdisciplinary teams, and have strong writing skills. Ideal interns will have experience with quantitative methodology, and knowledge on qualitative methodology will be an additional asset.

English only. Knowledge of the local language (Macedonian) or other languages of the region (Bosnian, Serbian, or Croatian) is not required but would be considered an asset.
