Advising

MIRS students enjoy the benefits of a strong support network throughout the course of their study. These include the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS), Center Mentors, and dedicated II graduate academic advisors. For contact and advising information, please see the details below.

Prospective New Students

Prospective students are highly encouraged to connect directly with our academic advisors to discuss the program and their specific interests. Our advisors are happy to answer questions over email, or schedule a phone or video call.

To contact our office or schedule an appointment, please email us directly at mirs-info@umich.edu.

Current U-M Students

MIRS students should maintain regular contact with the DGS and their Center Mentor throughout their academic career. Students should also meet with an II graduate academic advisor at least once per term to complete their degree audits and discuss administrative matters.

Current students can email ii-gradadvising@umich.edu or schedule an appointment to connect with an advisor.

The International Institute is operating remotely at this time. Have a quick question? II Academic Services has staff available at designated times our in our Virtual Advising Office.
