The letter of recommendation/support must be signed by the Endorser (head of department, dean, or vice chancellor at the applicant’s home institution) and on departmental letterhead. The letter must include the following:
- Comment on the candidate’s strengths and merits.
- Explain how this candidate’s Michigan residency contributes to the central needs of the university.
- Affirm the home university will continue the scholar’s pay while they are at the University of Michigan.
The letter of support must be uploaded before the UMAPS Program application deadline on October 15.
