University of Michigan senior Chloe Hale is graduating this spring with a double major in Political Science and Social Theory and Practice with a focus on human rights. As the DHRC’s 2021 Student-Initiated Summer Internship Fellow,  Hale interned with the Torture Abolition Survivors Support Coalition (TASSC) studying the history, impact, and current situation under the Museveni Regime in Uganda. As a fellow, the majority of her work focused on leading investigations in a confidential case against a suspected torturer under the U.S. Global Magnitsky Act.  Hale collaborated with a law firm in producing sound legal arguments regarding gross human rights violations. Chloe’s work at TASSC paved the way for her future as a Wallenberg Fellow.

The DHRC celebrates Hale’s accomplishments in the field of human rights.
