Encouraging students and faculty to globalize their horizons
The Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) seeks to be a focal point for the interdisciplinary study of issues that transcend borders. We administer one of the fastest growing and largest undergraduate programs on campus. PICS remains committed to its core mission to advance engaged global learning about the world beyond our borders and our integral place and role, individually and collectively, in that world. With your help, PICS can support internships, research, and study abroad for our International Studies students.
For more information on the various ways you can support PICS, please contact our center at 734.764.2268 or email@example.com.
Your Gifts at Work
Your gift can fund opportunities such as the International Human Rights Fellowship or a Summer Internship Grant.
Our 2019 International Human Rights Fellow with Perseus Strategies in Washington, D.C., Hannah Pierce, had this to say about her experience: “[…] I gained valuable insight while networking and meeting people from all different careers, helping me to gain a better understanding of the complex political world. With the experience, I hope to utilize my newly acquired skills to make tangible change after graduation and ultimately make an impact in the world.”
One of our 2021 Summer Internship Grant recipients, Emmanuel Orozco Castellanos, described his experience as well: “[…] interning for AsylumConnect provided multiple opportunities to practice my multilingual skills, global citizenship, and multicultural competence. Ultimately, this summer, I was able to pursue a professional opportunity that truly transcended borders.”
PICS International Internships
PICS students secure their own internships abroad and apply to PICS for additional funding to help offset travel and housing costs. PICS would like to grant support to all International Studies students seeking valuable international work experience. [DONATE]
PICS Student Fellowships Fund
PICS receives numerous strong applications for student study and research abroad. Current resources cannot fund all the great student applications. PICS would like to support all the worthy International Studies students who wish to study abroad. [DONATE]
