“The PICS program allowed me to explore international studies through taking a diverse set of courses and studying different languages. This flexibility empowered me to recognize that the toolbox of transferrable skills and experience utilizing different ways of thinking about problems and solutions I gained at U-M could be applied to almost any career path. I have been grateful to work in different areas of international development around the world focused on geopolitical risk and security, monitoring and evaluation, national and global elections, and democracy and human rights programming. After four years of working, I returned to school to get my Masters in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at The London School of Economics and Political Science. I currently work in the Secretary's Office of Global Women's Issues at the U.S. Department of State focused on women's economic security global programming. I wouldn't be where I am today without people being willing to speak with me about their careers, please feel free to reach out to me on Linkedin.”
