Hometown: Suttons Bay, MI

University of Michigan Affiliations: PALMA and MRelay

“Following graduation, I moved abroad to work with an international service organization called Outreach360. I lived in the Dominican Republic for a year and Nicaragua for two years leading international volunteer teams and teaching in local Learning Centers and public schools. I am now Outreach360's Development and Communication Director. I work remotely fundraising on behalf of our educational programs and inspiring others to volunteer.

My U-M International Studies major has influenced my career in so many ways. I really valued having agency over my education and getting to choose courses across departments and disciplines. I was intentional in tailoring every class to discover more about Latin America and fill gaps in knowledge I knew I would need while abroad. Thanks to PICS, I feel I was able to responsibly and sustainably live in two foreign countries and am able to continue to advocate on their behalf.

At Outreach360, we inspire and empower people to reach their full potential and give back by expanding educational, leadership, and service opportunities. We believe that education should be a right enjoyed by all instead of a privilege allotted to some. Our students inspire me to be thankful for my education every day. I am grateful to PICS for giving me so many incredible opportunities.”
