Emma Soberano is a Doctoral Candidate in English Language and Literature. Her research tackles race, ecology, epistemology, and empire in British Literature of the long nineteenth century, as well as the afterlives of empire in neo-Victorian literature. Her academic work has been published in Victorian Studies and is forthcoming from Nineteenth-Century Contexts, and her poetry has been published in Swampink (formerly Crazyhorse) Literary Magazine.
Emma also works for the National Center for Institutional Diversity at the University of Michigan, wwhere she supports the creation of an online platform providing evidence-based leadership development resources for equity-minded transformation in higher education.
