Assistant to the Education Centre Coordinator

Duration: 6-8 weeks between May and August

Number of Positions: 1-2

Responsibilities:

  • Editing the content of GONG webpage in English and assist in writing content for the page
  • Assist with organization of and logistics for public events and educational outreach activities, and coordinate follow-up activities
  • Develop educational materials and visuals based on compiled data for social media and web presence

Compensation:

  • Unpaid
  • Company will help intern to find housing, if desired.

Language Requirements:

  • English only. Basic knowledge of Croatian/Serbian or similar language would be very useful.

Croatian Cultural Centre

Location: Rijeka

Organization Description: The City of Rijeka is the European Capital of Culture for 2020 (Rijeka2020 ECoC). The city is organizing a program of activities under the title "Rijeka: Port of Diversity." Kortil Gallery is within the City of Rijeka's Croatian Cultural Center and is seeking an assistant to serve as key player in the Kortil Alive program. website

Curation Assistant

Duration: If offered the position, interns and their supervisor will decide on specific dates of the internship between May and August.

Number of Positions: 2

Responsibilities:

  • Interns will help to create and execute workshops for children based on current exhibitions, and may assist in setting up exhibitions
  • Execute and evaluate activities related to the Kortil Alive program
  • During their stay in Rijeka, interns will get all training and materials needed to acquire the aforementioned knowledge.

Compensation:

  • Unpaid
  • Assistance or connections to suitable housing is available upon intern request.

Language Requirements:

  • English only

  • Interest in modern and contemporary art, as well as analytical and interpretation skills in the context of an exhibition
  • Interest or experience in analyzing exhibition structure and set-up

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in human rights research related to rule of law, fundamental, civic, political and cultural rights in Croatia (and the region).
  • Analyzing information about the country’s human rights situation against the international standards in human rights promotion and protection.
  • Contributing to further development of YIHR’s research and reporting capacities.
