Research and Marketing Intern

Duration: If offered the position, interns and their supervisor will decide on specific dates of the internship between May and August.

Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the online newsletter Eurospeak by contributing with different articles and assisting in updating the newsletter on daily basis
  • Provide assistance in organizing activities
  • Prepare informative materials such as brochures and leaflets

Compensation:

Municipality of Tirana

Location: Tirana

Communications & Public Relations Intern

Duration: Full-time 40/hrs week, 6-8 weeks, beginning May and ending no later than July. (dates are flexible)

Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare news releases, bylined articles, award nominations, fact sheets, and executive biographies
  • Enhance the municipality's social media presence, website, and internal communications
  • Draft and edit copy for social channels to increase engagement

Compensation:

  • Unpaid
  • Employer will help find students safe housing (apartments, shared spaces, etc) for the entire period of the program. Interns will be responsible for the rent.

Language Requirements:

  • English only. Albanian would be an advantage.

Community Development & Human Rights Intern

Duration: Full-Time (40 hrs/week) 6-8 weeks, beginning mid-May and ending no later than July.

Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Legal research, literature reviews, and media monitoring of human rights issues in Albania
  • Develop advocacy materials to protect the rights of women
  • Learn and contribute to the researcher's work on quantitative methods and human rights

Compensation:

  • Unpaid
  • Employer will help find students safe housing (apartments, shared spaces, etc) for the entire period of the program. Interns will be responsible for the rent.

Language Requirements:

  • English only. Albanian would be an advantage.

Heritage Preservation & City Management Intern

Duration: 8 weeks between May and August

Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the tourism Directorate with concrete projects to further develop the tourism industry in Tirana and fuel the growth, expansion, and quality of services available
  • Help in tourism marketing to bring a greater number of visitors to the city
  • Organize promotional activities for the monuments of cultural heritage, tradition, folklore, handicrafts, etc.

Human Resources Intern

Duration: Internship is full-time (40 hours/week) for 6-8 weeks, beginning mid-May and ending no later than July.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement employee training programs
  • Design and implement an HR motivation and satisfaction survey for all employees of the municipality
  • Develop an exit questionnaire for municipal employees

National Coastal Agency of Albania

Location: Tirana

Organization Description: Established in 2014, the National Coastal Agency of Albania aims to protect, preserve, and promote the coastlines in Albania. The agency’s projects include the sustainable development of Albania’s beaches, as well as increased infrastructure for the promotion of research on both Albania’s coasts and its biggest island, Sazani. website

Coastal Zone Intern

Duration: 8 weeks, between May and August (30-40 hours/week)

Number of Positions: As many as would like to go!

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct underwater or land-based research assessing an at-risk underwater cultural heritage site (Diving Certificate would be a plus)
  • Conduct land-based research assessing coastal and mountain landscape in central Albania
  • Teach English in rural village to local business owners

  • Support sales staff by providing sales data, market trends, forecasts, account analyses, new product information and relay customer services requests
