The NGO Leadership Workshop is an innovative program designed to strengthen civil society in new democracies by providing management training to non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The workshop is offered in partnership by the Weiser Center for Europe & Eurasia and William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan.
In 2015, 2016, and 2017, the workshop was hosted in Bratislava, Slovakia in collaboration with the Pontis Foundation. We moved the NGO Leadership Workshop to Warsaw, Poland in 2018 and Spring 2019, in collaboration with the Education for Democracy Foundation. In Fall 2019, we returned to Bratislava in partnership with Ambrela to offer a workshop for leaders from Visegrad-4 countries—Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia—to address their specific needs. The video below highlights the Fall 2019 workshop.
WCEE, WDI, and Warsaw-based partner Education for Democracy Foundation (FED) had planned to hold a workshop in May 2020 that shifted to include online activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Read more about how we adjusted over this time.
