Slovak Ambassadors to the U.S. Peter Burian (2008-), Rastislav Kácer (2003-08), and Martin Bútora (1999-2003) join Zora Bútorova to honor the 10th anniversary of Ronald Weiser’s appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia.

2011 marks the tenth anniversary of Ambassador Ronald Weiser’s appointment as the United States Ambassador to Slovakia. In the decade that followed, Slovakia has consolidated its democracy, joined the European Union and NATO, emerging as one of the region’s most dynamic economies since joining the Eurozone in 2009. Ambassador Weiser will engage in a wide-ranging discussion of these dramatic developments and their implications for emerging democracies. 

Participants include past and present Slovak Ambassadors to the United States Peter Burian (2008-), Rastislav Kácer (2003-08), and Martin Bútora (1999-2003), along with Zora Bútorova.
