Professor Geneviève Zubrzycki was named the recipient of the 2021 Bronislaw Malinowski Award for your widely-recognized research contributions to the social sciences, particularly as they relate to Poland and East-Central Europe. The award is given annually by the Board of Directors of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (PIASA).
Geneviève Zubrzycki is professor of sociology and director of the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia, the Center for European Studies, and the Copernicus Center for Polish Studies. She is a comparative-historical and cultural sociologist who studies national identity and religion, collective memory and national mythology, and the contested place of religious symbols in the public sphere.
