PICS Career Event: How to Secure an International Internship

Friday, April 3, 2015
12:00 AM

Still looking for an internship or community service opportunity abroad? If so, you must attend this session. You will learn how to use your networks (after we meet, you’ll become a part of my network!) to find the opportunity that you’ve always wanted. It’s actually pretty easy to find an internship. The hardest part is knowing what kind of internship you want and where you want to go. So think about what you’re looking for and be ready to share your ambitions with Tina and the other attendees! Oh, we’ll cover funding opportunities too – because there’s no point in getting excited about an international summer experience if you can’t afford to pursue it.

Klementina (Tina) Sula is the Director of International Giving and Engagement at the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) of the University of Michigan. She is responsible for the College’s fundraising and engagement efforts outside of the United States. In particular, she works with international alumni, foundations, corporations, and LSA academic partners abroad. Prior to her current role, Tina advanced the College’s alumni engagement efforts by serving as a College Connections Coordinator, meeting over 1,000 LSA alumni nationally and internationally for face-to-face interviews. Tina has also worked for the US Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, the United States Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, the Club de Madrid in Madrid, Spain and for the State Department in Washington, D.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a master’s degree in Public Policy, and a master’s degree in Higher Education (with a focus on Philanthropy, Advancement and Development) all from the University of Michigan.
