“My time at the University of Michigan as an International Studies major with a particular interest in Japan gave me the direction and drive to maintain an international focus in my work and educational goals, incorporating my interest in Japanese studies and international law into my longer-term career aspirations. Since graduation I have continued to study international affairs at Harvard Law School, where I am on the board of the Harvard Asia Law Society and an editor for the Harvard International Law Journal. This summer I went back to Japan as a summer associate with TMI Associates, a major Japanese law firm, fully immersing myself in international legal practice. As I continue my legal education, I hope to keep building on these experiences and further explore global and cross-border legal practice.”
