“As an alumna of the Program in International and Comparative Studies, I have had the opportunity to work at headquarters for both Domino's and Target. It is fair to assume that these companies are very different, and you wouldn't be wrong. One sells pizza and has 5,000 international storefronts while the other is a discount retailer with 1,800 stores located solely in the United States. One commonality, however, is that both companies have surprisingly vast international networks and opportunities. From Minneapolis to India, I collaborate with fellow Target team members in all types of different international locations and careers on a daily basis. The International Studies major taught me to think critically via an international lens and I've been fortunate enough to apply these learnings directly to my full-time job. Thanks to my undergraduate background, I have a deep appreciation for this ever-changing, globally-connected world we live in and my day-to-day interactions are just another example of how many things transcend borders, even the workplace.”
