This conference considers the interplay between law and human rights activism in three Latin American nations that underwent intense national processes of constitutional transformation as a result of broad-based social movements: Brazil, Cuba, and Chile. Papers presented at the conference will examine the place of feminist, Indigenous, and Afrodescendent social movements in shaping new norms; campaigns for rights to care; and revindications of reparations and housing rights.
