This year, NEH announced the University of Michigan will receive $210,000 to support four research and writing fellowships, two of which are International Institute faculty affiliates. Congratulations to all the award recipients!
The University of Michigan has extraordinary depth in scholarship and instruction dealing with Islam as a world religion and the study of Muslim peoples and societies. Over 50 faculty members from a wide array of departments and professional schools are currently engaged in work related to these topics. The study of Islam and Muslim societies at U-M is not confined to a few highly specialized departments, but is part of the University's mainstream. Read more.
