Join the University of Michigan Global Islamic Studies Center (GISC) on November 14th at 3:00 PM ET for a roundtable panel discussion on "Palestine & Free Speech: Activism, Advocacy, and Law." This panel features Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit, U-M alum and Palestinian American Attorney Fadel M. Nabilsi, and Council on American-Islamic Relations-Michigan (CAIR-MI) Staff Attorney Amy V. Doukoure, and focuses on free speech, student activism, and the law on campus and beyond.
Panelists will discuss rights to engage in free speech in the United States, religious and racial discrimination in the context of advocacy, and employment issues for students and professionals involved in activism. We will also hear from speakers on their local, national, and international legal work that involves Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian American citizens. A moderated audience Q&A will follow the panel.
