Academic advising for all majors and minors in the International Institute takes place in Weiser Hall, 500 Church Street, Suite 341, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. We offer a number of different modes of contact to accommodate our prospective and current students, as well as our students abroad.
Quick Questions Advising
Prospective and current undergraduate students may email email@example.com with quick questions.
Walk-in advising hours are closed for summer break and will resume on Monday, August 26, 2019.
Students are encouraged to schedule back-to-back appointment times if they wish to discuss two or more majors or minors within the II. For example, if you plan to major in REES and minor in Islamic Studies, please reserve two advising sessions in a row through the Undergraduate Advising Appointment System.
Pop-up Advising Sessions
Throughout the year, II Undergraduate Advising may host guest advisors from other units such as CGIS. Watch out for upcoming pop-up times and take advantage of meeting with your II advisor and visiting advisor back-to-back.
Virtual Advising Appointments
For students who are away from campus--home on vacation, studying abroad--we offer virtual advising appointments that can be conducted over the phone or through Skype/Google. Just make sure to include your phone number or Skype/Google identifier in your scheduled appointment notes. It is your responsibility to contact us, so please call in at your exact appointment time in EST.
Cross-campus Advising Appointments
Students pursuing a double major and/or MDDP with another UM school or college may benefit from meeting with both of their disciplinary advisors at once. If you would like to set up an appointment time in which both advisors are present, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to begin the process.
