"Isadora and her youngest child in their indigenous community, Chakiqpampa, Peru, waiting for the farm training session to begin. Sustainability without Borders (SWB) have been engaged with the community for the past few years and this summer they built a demonstration farm to increase crop production during the dry season. Isadora is one of two community members hired by SWB to maintain the farm."

"Measuring the chest patch temperature of an adult, male gelada monkey with an infrared thermometer. Gelada monkeys, nicknamed the 'bleeding heart monkey,' have a flame red patch of skin on their chest. For males, changes in chest patch color appear to be rank-based, with dominant males exhibiting the brightest chest patches compared to subordinate males. I'm assessing the thermoregulatory cost associated with maintaining a bright chest patch as part of her dissertation research."

"The core of our curriculum in Vienna was to experience a variety of artistic performances. This picture was our first time watching a ballet performance in the Wienerstaatsoper, or the Vienna Opera House. Musical accompaniment was provided by the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic, the orchestra of Mahler and Bernstein."

"Dr. Cevallos, an Ecuadorian research collaborator, and myself in Esmeraldas, Ecuador, storing stool samples in a liquid nitrogen tank. A whole day was dedicated to collecting stool samples from infants to be tested for enteropathogens. The nitrogen helps to preserve samples while being transported to the capital Quito for pathogen testing."
