About
Program specialist Naira Tumanyan manages projects, coordinates academic activities, and provides administrative support to the Center for Armenian Studies. She is PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is currently pursuing a Master of Sciences degree in Human-Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Michigan.
She received her MA degree in area studies from the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Michigan. Her theses addressed the social and political developments and the issues of emerging democracies in the South Caucasus after the collapse of the Soviet Union. She was the 2010-12 Manoogian Simone Foundation and 2010-11 Weiser Emerging Democracy Fellow. She also holds a Master's degree in sociology from Yerevan State University, Armenia.
Naira has over nine years of combined project management, reporting, administrative and research experiences in academic, governmental and nonprofit sectors.
