About
Nahom is pursuing a Masters in International and Regional Studies with a specialization in African studies. He earned a BA in Global Studies with a minor in Human Rights from San Jose State University (2020) where he earned the distinction of President’s Scholar. Prior to attending Michigan, he previously worked in the Workforce Development & Education department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory which strives to promote equal access to STEM careers for students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. He also worked at the Law Offices of Tesfaye Tsadik , a civil and human rights litigation practice in Northern California. Nahom’s research interests include economic underdevelopment within Africa and the socio-political factors that contribute to the issue.
