Yi Jian

Born in Hunan and growing up in Guangdong, Kate graduated from Zhejiang University in 2024. Her research interests include political violence, civil-military relations and elite power struggles, as well as their interaction with political culture/propaganda/psychology, with a focus on the Mao era. Broadly speaking, she is also interested in the evolution of communist regimes and the long-term impact of communism. As an art-lover, she hopes to combine her passion for art with her concern about political issues, as evidenced by her previous research on red music.
