Assistant Professor, Public Health
About
Dr. Aurora Le is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the U-M School of Public Health. Dr. Le’s interdisciplinary research is centered around highly infectious disease mitigation and management, with a focus on training, education, prevention, and preparedness. In a series of gap analysis studies, she highlighted the disparities in infectious disease mitigation and management training and education among non-healthcare workers—such as those who work in the death care sector, first response, medical waste, and aircraft rescue and firefighting—who have comparable risks for occupational exposure compared to their healthcare worker counterparts. She is also interested in the intersections between health behavior, occupational safety, and industrial hygiene, as well as psychosocial factors that influence occupational health.
She has a PhD in Health Behavior with a minor in Environmental Science from Indiana University, MPH from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health with a concentration in Community-Oriented Primary Care, and a BA in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego. She is also Certified in Public Health (CPH) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
