About
Aristea Kola's master's thesis was focused on the sonnets by Arshi Pipa (poet, philosopher, and dissident) as a testimony of the crimes of Albanian communism. Her academic interests include the effects of propaganda, literature as cultural memory, and resistance. She is deeply interested in Albanian literature of exile, and post-traumatic syndromes of World War II in Europe through women writers and literary social-political phenomena.
Aristea has published and translated several articles. She has been editor-in-chief of the independent, multidisciplinary, online critic journal Kêns.al since 2017. She has participated in creative writing workshops and some of her poems are published in Sabbat (2015), an anthology of young poets. Aristea speaks Albanian and Italian. Her goal is to promote Albanian studies and culture globally.
