MIRS-Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies Student
About
Arthur speaks Russian, Mandarin, Italian, Ukrainian, French, Spanish, and German with varying degrees of fluency. His academic interests include the intersection between statecraft, religion, and national identity, as well as the role of religion in forming and unifying diaspora communities. As part of his research, Arthur hopes to study the sociopolitical status of the Russian diaspora in China throughout history and today, a topic that captured his attention while he worked on his capstone for the Minor in Translation Studies. Outside academics, Arthur enjoys sports, reading, and foreign language study, and he is a proud member of the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club. He is very excited to continue at Michigan for another two years!
