The Conflict and Peace Initiative’s current primary projects are:
Community Events: We organize campus-wide events aimed at engaging a diverse audience and inspiring social action. Our first series of events focuses on visits to campus by social-justice-oriented graphic novelists. We are also co-sponsoring events aimed at combating bigotry of all forms.
Interdisciplinary CPI Dialogues: We bring together CPI scholars from diverse disciplines, with the goal of holding interdisciplinary discussions and workshops, in order to raise awareness and build dialogue within the U-M community. Our long-term vision is that these dialogues will inform the curriculum of study for an interdisciplinary CPI master’s program.
Campus Human Rights Index: We are partnering with the Donia Human Rights Center to pilot a resource to help prospective students gauge the social justice climate at universities. More information here.
