Call for Proposals
The Center for Emerging Democracies (@umichDemocracy) seeks applications from University of Michigan graduate students in all departments for grants toward research projects related to authoritarianism and democracy, broadly understood. Funds cannot be used for conference expenses.
Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the number of successful proposals.
Deadline for submission of proposals is January 15, 2025. Awardees will be notified by March 1, 2025.
Application Instructions:
Applicants should submit the following:
- A 2-page proposal describing your research project, including its anticipated scholarly contribution to the study of authoritarianism and/or democracy.
- Indicate the time period in which you plan to conduct your research.
- The name of your primary Michigan faculty adviser.
- Your current CV.
