Research Projects

CSAS faculty and students are involved in ongoing research that covers a wide variety of subjects.

Our faculty  research projects range from an archeological excavation that  seeks to understand social, economic, and political life and transformation among agricultural communities in South India during the first millennium to a study of arsenic exposure in Nadia, West Bengal,  and from studies about outsourcing and management that the Center for Global Resource Leverage India (a research satellite of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business) is conducting in Bangalore, to lead exposure and its effects on children in Chennai.

Our student research projects are equally impressive and include a wide- spectrum of interests such as investigating the transnational connections between African-American literature and culture to Dalit social and literary movements in the state of Maharashtra, or work that focuses on the microfinance industry in Bangladesh and possible interactions with Islamic finance.
