Oksana Fedorak, a MPH student in health behavior and health education at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, was featured in a recent article about her work to prevent human trafficking in Ukraine. The Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES) helped to fund her research with a 2022 Vera Andrushkiw Ukrainian Research Grant. When Oksana applied for the grant in early February, she had plans to do her work in Ukraine, but after the Russian full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, her plans quickly changed. Students would would like to pursue summer research projects focused on Ukraine are encouraged to apply for the Vera Andrushkiw Ukrainian Research Grant. The annual application deadline is February 15.
