Funding

The Copernicus Program in Polish Studies is committed to supporting student engagement with Poland and Polish studies. To foster this, we offer several types of funding opportunities.

Incoming graduate students in all departments who plan to focus their research on Polish studies are eligible for the Copernicus Fellowship for Incoming Graduate Students in Polish Studies. Students must be nominated by their departments for this funding.
Deadline: February 15

Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, are invited to apply for Copernicus Summer Grants and Amelia Kulesa Konopka Fellowships to support research or internships in Poland.
Deadline: February 15

Undergraduate students currently enrolled in Polish language courses at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, are invited to apply for Polish Language Studies Scholarships to support continued language study.
Deadline: End of first week of classes in the Winter term

University of Michigan Travel Policy

All U-M students traveling abroad for university-related purposes (i.e., participating in study, research, work, or volunteer programs organized or supported by U-M departments/units or for which U-M in-residence credit is granted) are required to register their travel in the U-M Travel Registry and purchase U-M’s Travel Abroad Health Insurance.
