Transfer Credit Policy

PICS Transfer Credit Policy

The Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) allows students to take and transfer courses from other institutions to the University of Michigan for prerequisite, major, and minor credit for International Studies through the approval process described below. Transfer courses must be approved by the Program if they are to count toward any International Studies prerequisite, major, or minor requirements. The Program does review coursework for potential transfer students to determine how coursework from another institution could be applied to the International Studies major or minor.

Note: The core courses: INTLSTD 301: Topics in International Studies and INTLSTD 401: International Studies Advanced Seminar required to complete the International Studies major or minor must be completed in residence.
