WCED Director Allen Hicken, along with WCED faculty associate Ken Kollman, Walter R. Mebane, Jr., and Kirill Kalinin, wrote a commentary for the Washington Post's Monkey Cage blog about the results of Austria's May 22 presidential election. The right-wing, populist Freedom Party narrowly lost the vote to the left-wing Green Party, prompting allegations of fraud. U-M faculty used their Election Forensics Toolkit to dispel these concerns. Nonetheless, the election results were overturned and a new election will be scheduled later in 2016. Read the Monkey Cage post here.
