Abigail Sebaly is spending 12 months in Melbourne, Australia studying choreography at the Victorian College of the Arts School of Dance and Centre for Ideas. She is participating in a professional mentorship with the Melbourne International Arts Festival’s Artistic Director Kristy Edmunds. Before coming to Australia, she was director of special projects for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in New York. Her desire to spend a year in arts-rich Melbourne continues to be motivated by a strong interest in performing arts curation and broadening the acceptance of art as a vital part of contemporary life.
