Funding
The Center for Japanese Studies offers numerous funding opportunities to its students and faculty. The Center provides summer and academic year fellowships on a competitive basis to University of Michigan graduate students whose studies focus on Japan. Conference travel support funds are also available to graduate students who are participating in conferences in an executive capacity. In addition, the Center provides limited funding to undergraduate students studying in Japan through the Office of International Programs. Faculty funding programs include research grants, course development grants, and travel grants. The Center also attempts to relay information regarding external funding opportunities for its students and faculty through this website and emails
