Part I, "Phonology," introduces and classifies the consonants and vowels of the Kurdish of Sulaimania, Iraq and includes contrastive drills on the most difficult consonants. Part II, "Spoken Kurdish," presents in transcription the language of the educated native of Sulaimania, with each lesson based on dialogue. Part III, "Written Kurdish," introduces the Kurdish writing system as used in Iraq and includes a transition from spoken to narrative prose.
