Library Gallery Lecture - Russian Caricatures of Tsar Nicholas II and the 1905 Revolution

This lecture will be given by Margaret Betz, professor of art history at the Savannah School of Art and Design. Professsor Betz wrote her dissertation on caricature and the 1905 Russian Revolution and has written and lectured widely on the subject; her lecture will feature many illustrative slides.

Co-sponsored by the University of Michigan Museum of Art, Institute for the Humanities, Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies, International Institute, Center for Russian and East European Studies, Center for International and Comparative Studies, Department of History, Department of History of Art, and Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. Refreshments will be provided.
This lecture accompanies "Caricature and the 1905 Russian Revolution," an exhibit on display from April 1-18, 2008 in the Hatcher Library Gallery during regular library hours. The exhibit is sponsored by the University of Michigan's University Library.
