Japan-Related Courses at U-M

Course offerings range widely by term to term depending on faculty availability, departmental needs, and student interests.  Many courses are offered on a regular schedule, e.g. every year or every other year.  In addition, Japan-related courses are also offered as a part of "topics" courses.

The PDF files below contain course descriptions of courses related to East Asia.  Please note that course offerings are subject to change and that courses listed in these files may be cancelled or closed due to reaching the enrollment cap.  Please contact the department or school for the up to date information.  For a complete listing of courses offered by term with up to date information on meeting times and enrollment status, go to the LSA Course Guide.

A note on course numbers: In general, courses numbered 100-499 are intended for undergraduates, and 500 and above are for graduate students.  Most, but not all, courses at the 400 level are approved for graduate credit with extra work.

Important information for students in the MA Program in Japanese Studies: Not all courses listed in these files count toward degree requirements.  Please check with the CJS Academic Services Coordinator if you have any questions.
