Funding Opportunities
FOR U-M STUDENTS
CES-EUC administers grants for research and internships to University of Michigan students in the form of CES-EUC Summer Research and Internship Grants and the Jean Monnet Graduate Fellowship. In addition, CES-EUC keeps track of various internship, research, and funding opportunities in and related to Europe and the European Union.
PLEASE NOTE:
All University of Michigan students taking part in University-sponsored international travel should review U-M Overseas Travel Guidelines and are required to register on the on-line International Travel Registry.
U-M requires that undergraduate students participating in U-M education abroad (study/work/volunteer) programs organized by U-M departments/units or for which in-residence U-M credit is granted buy the University's travel abroad health insurance policy. CES-EUC requires that all students purchase the University's travel abroad health insurance policy when participating in CES-EUC-supported individual study, research, and/or internships abroad. U-M students may also buy this insurance for leisure travel abroad. For information about the plan's benefits and costs, see Travel Abroad Health Insurance. To purchase the University's travel abroad health insurance policy, you must first fill out the Travel Registration form.

FOR U-M FACULTY
The Stockholm University–University of Michigan Collaboration in Research and Education
The WCEE and CES-EUC invites U-M faculty applications for the S-U/U-M Faculty Awards Program. U-M applicants are invited to propose projects in any field of research or teaching with a faculty partner at S-U, and should submit with their application evidence of their correspondence with said faculty partner. The award of up to $10,000 will support a short-term (2-4 week) research visit to Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden. The award will include airfare for the awardee, and a per diem towards their daily expenses, housing and health insurance coverage during the stay in Stockholm. Funding will be available for one U-M faculty. The for 2009-10 academic year is now closed.
Weiser Faculty Grants 2009-11 Call for Proposals
The Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia (WCEE) and its affiliated units, the Center for European Studies-European Union Center (CES-EUC), Center for Russian and East European Studies (CREES), and Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies (WCED), invite University of Michigan faculty who are associated with CES-EUC, CREES, and/or WCED to submit proposals for grants to support initiatives that will take place in 2009-11 and extend the missions of these centers. The deadline is rolling; initial allocations will be made for proposals received by November 6, 2009.
EUC JEAN MONNET POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP
Jean Monnet Postdoctoral fellowship aims to extend individual U-M faculty collaborations with junior scholars affiliated with universities in the EU.Through an open call for proposals, nominations are solicited from U-M schools and departments to host an EU Fellow in any scholarly discipline or professional field who has completed a Ph.D. or equivalent within the past five years. The competition for 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years is now closed.
